TRINNOV’s HIGHER POWER
French company Trinnov Audio is preparing a 16-channel power amplifier, named the Amplitude16, doubling the channel count of its current Amplitude8 and Amplitude8M, and making an ideal match for its Altitude16 processor, or paired up for its Altitude32.
Speaking to an online assembly of EISA editors, Trinnov’s director of sales Arnaud Destinay noted a gap in the market above eight channels for high-end, with multichannel amplifiers above that being pro-orientated or designed for distributed audio, rather than high-end home cinema. He cited a rival 16-channel product as being non-bridgeable and having only a single power socket, where the Trinnov will have twin power supplies for higher power delivery. Hypex modules are used in the Amplitude8M, but the new amp will use IcePower modules based on Trinnov’s specs.
A Dante audio-over-IP board will also be made available, bypassing analogue inputs to stay digital direct to its built-in DACs.
Australian distributor Krix tells us that the Australian RRP will be $16,695, with stock anticipated to arrive towards the end of the year. More info: www.krix.com.au
