Bridger Automation says the performance objective for this project was to deliver a robust, reliable and intuitive system, with all fundamental functions integrated under a single user interface that anyone could use. The clients also opted for less technology than was originally planned, in favour of even more simplicity. The team chose RTI’s XP-6S control processor to power the user interface so the homeowners could easily control lighting, blinds, curtains, windows, fans, plus audio and video zones from a tablet, or through voice control. Three video sources are shared across three video zones with a fourth provisional zone in the master bedroom. An RTI audio distribution system also integrates seamlessly. Lighting was high on the priority list, with thoughtful elements adding a sophisticated look to the home. In close collaboration with the architect and client, Bridger Automation came up with carefully curated lighting scenes based on their schedule, with control over all of it at their fingertips. In addition to the typical daytime and evening scenes, the team also put together a panic scene to act as an additional layer of security, in addition to the home’s tight security bundle of PIR sensors, a B2B alarm, cameras with internet-enabled NVR, and more.
