BEST INTEGRATED HOME LEVEL II WINNER BRIDGER AUTOMATION CEDIA AWARDS 2021
It’s a second win for Bridger Automation in Level II of CEDIA’s Integrated Home categories. And this project marked the third time these clients have called upon Bridger for a whole home solution, this longterm understanding allowing a proposal that fit their exact needs, comprehensive in terms of control, aesthetics, and functionality, despite the many challenges this project presented. At the heart of this installation is an RTI XP8v processor, used as the primary control system for lighting, blinds, curtains, louvres, fans, fireplaces, and AV systems, and thereby enabling the creation of moods through lighting, audio, video and automation that are a great part of what made this project so rewarding, says the company. The lighting, for example, was subtle and strategic throughout the home to offer a warm ambience at night. The clients also wanted their home to smoothly transition from day to night around a natural sunset clock. So a scene is triggered one hour before sunset which turns selected lighting groups on, including exterior lights, and closes the curtains. During a second scene, all lighting circuits are slowly shut off so that only the landscape lights remain on during the night. Similarly in the morning, the sun shines through large windows on the east and north, so two hours after dawn the motorised window shutters are raised to let sunlight in without the harsh glare of the early morning sun. For privacy at night, motorised curtains and shades were introduced. Because these scenes run on a sunset/sunrise clock, the clients never need to worry about adjusting them with the change of seasons.
