BEST INTEGRATED HOME LEVEL IV WINNER RABONE SYSTEMS

-

Rabone Systems says the performance objective for this property was to deliver a solution that enabled all sub systems to operate under a unified interface without complexity to the end user. The client was also overseas for the majority of this project’s development, so it remained paramount that he nevertheless had a clear understanding of what was being delivered.

Rabone Systems also paid special mind to their audio selections, as this client is hard of hearing. Six zones of the home allow for the use of assisted hearing headphones, which give the client individual control of the volume to his headset without impacting the rest of the room. This also allowed Rabone Systems to re-shape the EQ curves for those outputs to boost the vocal frequencies, the area in which the client’s hearing is most affected.

Since this residence was intended to serve as a holiday house, the clients wanted to be able to host large gatherings with good quality sound across different levels and zones with minimal SPL drop. Such an expansive home required 22 audio zones and 80 ceiling speakers, not including the dedicated cinema. The video distribution to 16 AV zones uses Crestron’s NVX AV-over-IP platform, giving Rabone Systems the flexibility to support locally-switched sources as well as shared distributed sources.

With a property stretching over six levels, the 400+ lighting loads required a large control system which the Rabone team created and programmed to function largely based on scenes, schedules, and automatically-triggered events. Rabone Systems worked alongside the electrical contractor, builder and architect to meet the required outcome.
