WOT, NO WiSA?

-

Klipsch previously delivered a hub-based active wireless Premier Reference system using WiSA technology; these new models are back to normal passive operation. Why so?

“Well we’ve always had, we’re always going to have passive in the line,” Klipsch’s Michael Buratto explained. “The WiSA offering was a really cool opportunity for us to dip our toes into this high-end high-definition wireless technology, and that did well for us for a little

bit... it was a new idea to the customers, it’s a very high-end offering, so it was sort of a niche product. And frankly the WiSA technology I think is now just beginning to catch on — they’ve got LG now, rumour has it that all their new 4K OLED TVs, like $1000 and up will have WiSA two-channel built into them, so they’ll work with any WiSA speaker system on the market. So right now we’re waiting to see where that technology goes before we bring out our next wireless high-res offering.”
