BOSE LAUNCHES FIRST WIRELESS SPORTS EARBUDS

- BY Steve May

Renowned audio brand, Bose, has launched its first wireless earbuds the ‘SoundSport Free’, set to be available in Australia from February 6th for A$299.95.

Bose affirms that despite their small size, the SoundSport Free is “technology-packed”.

The audio brand claims the earbuds will “stay connected” and “stay in” – two major problems which often plague Bluetooth connected wireless headphones.

Bose asserts that the earbuds’ proprietary StayHear+ sport tips offer a secure and firm fit.

Weighing under 10 grams – 2.8cm x 3 cm – Bose’s SoundSport Free incorporates a new antennae system to maintain a “strong and reliable” connection, for up to 9 metres. The SoundSport Free feature a “miniature acoustic package” which includes Bose’s digital signal processing, volume optimised EQ and a rechargeable lithium battery.

The product pledges to offer 5 hours of music playback without “pop or hisses”.

Whilst the SoundSport Free is designed for fitness use, Bose states the product is also suitable for simple music-onthe-go. Featuring IPX4 certification, the earbuds are sweat and water resistant.

The accompanying charging case offers two additional full charges, thereby ten hours of battery life. The Bose Connect App also provides “Find My Buds” functionality.

Bose’s SoundSport Free earbuds are available in three “high-gloss” colours (Triple Black, Blue/Citron and Orange/ Blue) and will be available to purchase from authorised retailers nationally.
