NAD Electronics has introduced a new, dedicated CD player. The C 538 features the latest generation Wolfson High Spec 24/192 DAC, plus a high precision clock for minimal digital jitter performance. Other manufacturers may have ceased production of CD players, but NAD believes there is a strong replacement market for disc enthusiasts - and it’s almost certainly right.

Design wise, the deck embodies the clean classic lines so familiar from NAD. There’s no highfalutin High Res Audio support, but the C 538 will play MP3 and WMA playback from CD-R/CD-RW discs. Connectivity includes stereo analogue phonos, plus coaxial and optical digital outputs. Control functionality is standard; there’s no network functionality.

“Although music downloads and streaming continue to grow in popularity, CDs are still the primary listening source for millions of people around the world” says Greg Stidsen, NAD’s Director of Technology and Product Planning. “NAD continues to innovate and develop its CD players to get improved performance while keeping prices affordable. So, whether you are creating your first home system, or upgrading your current CD player, music lovers should choose one like the C 538 that delivers high quality sound.”

Australian pricing and availability to be confirmed.
