Tree plant­ing to re­mem­ber our fallen

THE Nanango com­mu­nity will this month be hon­our­ing those men and women who served and con­tinue to serve our coun­try.

The Nanango RSL Sub-Branch will be plant­ing lone pine trees in the Nanango com­mu­nity to re­mem­ber and hon­our the ser­vice­men who fell at Gal­lipoli.

To­day, two trees will be gifted by the Sub-Branch to two lo­cal schools.

Start­ing at 9am, the Nanango RSL Sub-Branch and St Pa­trick’s rep­re­sen­ta­tives will hold a cer­e­mony at St Pa­trick’s Pri­mary School.

The plant­ing of the sec­ond Lone Pine Tree will take place at Nanango State High School with their school rep­re­sen­ta­tives at 10am.

A third lone pine tree will be gifted and planted at the an­nual Christ­mas Nanango Sub-Branch & Ci­ti­zen’s Aux­il­iary morn­ing tea on Wed­nes­day De­cem­ber 19 with res­i­dents from Karinya Aged Care.

The morn­ing will be­gin at 9.30am.
