Wind farm will blow them away

I WAS extremely fortunate to have a private tour of the Coopers Gap Wind Farm this week.

As I drove to the location, I found it hard to create an accurate vision in my head of what these towering wind turbines would look like.

At 110m tall, plus another 67m for the blades, these energy generators stand as tall as any New York skyscraper.

Once all 123 wind turbines are erected by the latter part of next year, the Coopers Gap Wind Farm will certainly be a sight to see.

During my tour, I was impressed by the level of professionalism and order within such a large-scale project.

There may be differing opinions on the introduction of the wind farm to our region but as far as I’m concerned the more discussions we have about renewable energy the better for everyone.

Once complete, the wind farm will be one of the country’s largest, which will be just another feather in our already over-flowing cap.
