CHRIST­MAS is the sea­son for fam­i­lies and friends to gather to­gether and re­lax, and a per­fect way to cel­e­brate will be at the Pros­ton Lions Com­mu­nity Christ­mas Car­ni­val.

The car­ni­val will be held at Pros­ton Rail­way Park on Satur­day, De­cem­ber 15, and all the fun of a tra­di­tional coun­try fair will en­sure a pleas­ant evening for peo­ple of all ages.

Many of Pros­ton’s com­mu­nity or­gan­i­sa­tions will have a hand in pro­vid­ing food and en­ter­tain­ment, and will in­clude:

Pros­ton Show So­ci­ety: Bar­be­cue stall and chil­dren’s kite dec­o­rat­ing Pros­ton Lions: Li­censed bar

Pros­ton Scout Group: Cold drinks Re­lay for Life: Hot chips

Pros­ton Bowls Club: Lucky ticket wheel loaded with lots of Christ­mas good­ies

Pros­ton P&C: Choco­late toss to raise funds for the 2019 Year 6 trip to Can­berra.

Many other at­trac­tions will pro­vide free chil­dren’s en­ter­tain­ment, in­clud­ing Viv White’s lovely pet pa­rade, Marie’s imag­i­na­tive face paint­ing, Pros­ton Men’s Shed with free ice creams, lol­lies and the jump­ing cas­tle, and the Pros­ton CWA Christ­mas tree.

Other stalls of in­ter­est will be present, in­clud­ing Cheese­world, Mondee Cof­fee and Rocket Road­show, plus many other craft and gift stalls.

Christ­mas raf­fles will also be drawn on the night, so hurry up and get your tick­ets in for th­ese be­fore­hand.

Of course, no Christ­mas would be com­plete with­out a visit from Santa Claus – how will he ar­rive? Be there to find out.

Some main street busi­nesses will be open for those wish­ing to do a lit­tle night-time brows­ing and shop­ping, with plenty of park­ing avail­able.

The car­ni­val will be open from 5–9pm.
