HIVESVILLE branch held a suc­cess­ful mini cent sale on Satur­day, Novem­ber 17.

Guest speaker was Mau­reen Bow­den, who spoke about her fret­work and showed some pieces.

The Sun­bon­net Sue quilt raf­fle was won by Joyce Simp­son, from Bud­erim, and Donna Robin­son, from Hivesville, won sec­ond prize, which was a food ham­per.

Mem­bers will again make Christ­mas cake and bis­cuits to give out at the Hivesville Christ­mas Car­ni­val be­ing held on Fri­day, De­cem­ber 14.

The last branch meet­ing for the year was held at the Mur­gon Mo­tor Inn fol­lowed by a de­light­ful Christ­mas lunch.

In­ter­na­tional re­port given by Pat was about the rivers of Ger­many, the work of ACWW and an in­tro­duc­tion to Lithua­nia, coun­try of study for 2019.

Mem­bers will at­tend the last divi­sion hand­i­craft meet­ing for the year on Mon­day, De­cem­ber 10. The next branch craft day will be held in Fe­bru­ary 2019. Mak­ing book­marks and an item in cel­las­toid are on the to-do list.

For Coun­try Kitchens a dis­cus­sion was had on how to read la­bels on food items. This can be very con­fus­ing when it comes to healthy eat­ing.

Best wishes to all for a happy Christ­mas and a won­der­ful new year. The first meet­ing for 2019 will be held on Mon­day, Fe­bru­ary 4, at 10am.

PROS­TON-BOUND: Santa Claus will make his way from the North Pole to Pros­ton for the Pros­ton Christ­mas Car­ni­val on Satur­day, De­cem­ber 15.
