Mystery box to kickstart your crafty year

TWO Sisters Art’s subscription box is giving local artists the opportunity to be creative on a budget.

Tania Corbet, the creator of Two Sisters Art, said it was the perfect opportunity for people to indulge their interest in art and craft.

“It’s a mystery box subscription. Each month they don’t know exactly what they’re getting, so they’re just samples of products that come in a larger quantity or a bigger pack, so they can have a play without spending so much money on something that they might not like,” she said.

“It’s $30 a month, and the first box is over $60 worth of value in there, and then each month after it’s got $45 worth of value. It’s all $30 if it’s pick up, and $40 if it’s posted.”

Ms Corbet said more people were joining as part of a new year’s resolution to be more creative.

“We’ve found lots of people are wanting to be more creative this year. We basically want to help give them something to do with these boxes,” she said.

“A lot of mothers or people like that often just want some time off, so these are perfect for them.”

For people using the subscription as a way to learn artistic techniques, the costs include some special online lessons.

“We also have two artists that do YouTube videos using all the products for that month, so if you sign up, then you’re put in an exclusive Facebook group that shows videos and what you can do with the products,” she said.

“We’re here to give guidance, so it’s more about the process rather than the product.”

Products available from Two Sisters Art.
