Milestone for project
The Transforming Bunbury’s Waterfront project has reached another milestone with a contractor locked in for stage two of the project.
Western Australian company Advanteering Civil Engineers has been awarded the first of two contracts to deliver the $10.8 million upgrade of the Jetty Road causeway at Casuarina Boat Harbour.
Transport Minister Rita Saffioti was in Bunbury yesterday to make the announcement.
“The causeway upgrade is a significant first step towards addressing demand for local boating infrastructure and services,” Ms Saffioti said.
Work is expected to start in early November when about 24,000 tonnes of rock will be brought in for the causeway.
A community survey on the concept planning for stage two – including better parking and landscaping – of the project along Casuarina Drive was also launched yesterday.
