Abstract scenes at Collie gallery
Various colours, layers and textures will fill the walls of the Collie Art Gallery when it hosts Perthbased artist Carol Rowling from December 21 to February 10.
Ms Rowling is influenced by the vast Australian landscape over which she flies on a regular basis, inspired by the rugged formations created over time.
These images are conveyed in an abstract way using mixed media, acrylic and ochre collected from her visits to the Kimberley and Pilbara regions.
She also interprets the natural beauty by carving into layers of canvas with a power tool, assembling each work over pre-shaped wood and stretcher frames.
