Funds for Mt Henry spit work

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - NEWS -

ONGOING revegetation works at the Mount Henry spit in Salter Point will receive State Government funding through its Riverbank Program, which funds foreshore restoration projects to improve the health of the Swan and Canning rivers. The Mount Henry spit restoration area includes 900m of foreshore from the Mount Henry Bridge, north towards Cloisters Reserve. The City of South Perth will match the Government’s financial contribution and the money will also go towards weed control measures, renourishment and controlling access to the area. It is hoped the restoration works will lead to long-term erosion control, species diversity and provide habitat for native fauna.
