HBF Fit­ness be­gins an eightweek spring fit­ness pro­gram at River­vale Pri­mary School on Tues­day, Oc­to­ber 23, at 5.30pm.

Learn more about co-de­sign­ing bet­ter pub­lic spa­ces on Al­bany High­way at the Vic Park Col­lec­tive’s next event, to be held on Wed­nes­day, Oc­to­ber 24, at Daddy Long Legs Bar. Adrian Cag­nana from Roberts Day will dis­cuss the im­por­tance of ur­ban pub­lic spa­ces. Dean Crack­nell from Town Teams will speak about some of Perth’s suc­cess sto­ries. Dr An­thony Duck­worthSmith will dis­cuss how the Aus­tralian Ur­ban De­sign Re­search Cen­tre has helped other com­mu­ni­ties co-de­sign spa­ces. It will start at 6.30pm; book through EventBrite.

As­so­ci­a­tion of In­de­pen­dent Re­tirees Perth South­ern branch meets at the East Vic­to­ria Park RSL on Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 26, be­gin­ning at 9.30am.

Up to 20,000 peo­ple are ex­pected at this year’s Zig Zag Com­mu­nity Arts Fes­ti­val, which re­turns to Kala­munda on Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 28, to cel­e­brate the best the Hills has to of­fer. Look out for live mu­sic from Odette Mercy and Soul Atomics, pop-up bars, free kids’ ac­tiv­i­ties and face paint­ing, mar­ket stalls, en­ter­tain­ers, art ac­ti­va­tions and a 5m-tall fire-breath­ing dragon.

En­joy the fun of the Wes­ley 95th an­niver­sary fair, with car­ni­val rides, mu­sic, en­ter­tain­ment, games, fire en­gine rides and a dunk­ing tank. It will be held on Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 28, from noon to 4pm at Wes­ley Col­lege, South Perth.

Comic book au­thor Camp­bell Whyte’s ex­hi­bi­tion, en­ti­tled Body of Wa­ter, is on dis­play at Man­ning Com­mu­nity Cen­tre un­til Jan­uary 27, 2019. A lim­ited edi­tion of the comic Bod­ies of Wa­ter can be viewed at South Perth.

THE Time for He­roes ex­hi­bi­tion on the 100th an­niver­sary of Poland re­gain­ing in­de­pen­dence opens at Par­lia­ment House on Fri­day, Novem­ber 9. The ex­hi­bi­tion com­mem­o­rates the sac­ri­fice and courage of Poles sav­ing Jews. It also tells the story of Cap­tain Wi­told Pilecki, who founded the un­der­ground or­gan­i­sa­tion at Auschwitz. It runs un­til Thurs­day, Novem­ber 15.
