A MAN who was allegedly punched in the head outside his South Perth flat last Wednesday has died in hospital.

Steven Richards died four days after he was found with serious injuries near the intersection of Hurlingham Road and Mill Point Road.

He was taken to Royal Perth Hospital and placed on life support but died on Sunday.

Police believe the 45year-old’s head was punched outside the block of flats in which he lived about noon on Wednesday.

A 24-year-old man arrested over the incident is also a South Perth resident.

After a two-day police search, Aaron Lee Rebbeck was arrested in Gosnells late Friday night.

He made an initial court appearance on Saturday morning, charged with grievous bodily harm, and was remanded in custody to face court again on Wednesday, November 21.

ARSON Squad detectives have released pictures of a man they wish to speak to in relation to a fire at Ascot Waters Marina in midOctober.

The deliberately-lit fire caused $100,000 damage to a boat moored at the marina, nearby boats and the structure.

Arson Squad detectives initially believed the cause of the fire was an electrical fault while the boat’s owner was overseas at the time.

Police would like to speak to the man pictured who they believe can assist with this investigation.

Anyone who saw any suspicious activity, persons or vehicles in the area around the time of the fire is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online.

Rewards of up to $50,000 are available for information that leads to the apprehension and subsequent conviction of an arsonist.
