Waste chief to finish up soon
EASTERN Metropolitan Regional Council chief executive Peter Schneider has resigned but will see out the year in his role.
The council provides services in waste management, resource recovery, environmental management and regional development for the City of Belmont and the City of Kalamunda, as well Bayswater, Swan, Bassendean and Mundaring councils.
Mr Schneider resigned on November 2 and has given three months notice.
He spent nine years at the top after being promoted from corporate services executive manager and deputy chief executive along the way.
EMRC chairman David McDonnell said Mr Schneider had presided over a period of significant growth in core waste management services and the tender for the resource recovery facility.
