Big tick for survey response

Southern Gazette (Victoria Park) - - News - Aaron Corlett

MORE than 1000 people took part in the City of South Perth’s Vision 2027 survey to contribute to the council’s priorities for the next 10 years.

The survey is a part of a major review of the City’s 10year Strategic Community Plan and the comments and ideas collected will inform Stage Two of the Vision 2027 consultation process, which includes community and stakeholder workshops to be held in February 2017.

City of South Perth Mayor Sue Doherty said the feedback had been incredible and she thanked all who took part.

“We asked people what priorities they wanted the City to focus on over the next 10 years, what they liked most about living in or visiting the City, and what ideas they had to make the City a better place to live and visit,” she said.

“A broad range of ideas were presented, we received considered and insightful responses from a really diverse cross section of the community.

“People commented on everything from public transport to parking and traffic, trees and public open spaces, and cycleways to name just a few.”

Ms Doherty said the final result was going to be a strategic community plan that accurately reflected the community’s aspirations with a strong emphasis on their priorities for the City.

People who would like to attend a Vision 2027 workshop are invited to visit Your Say South Perth, the City’s engagement portal, and register their interest.

Stage Three will see the draft 2017-2027 plan released for community and stakeholder feedback in April 2017. The final plan will be presented to the council in June 2017.
