Char­ity chief’s new ven­ture

VA­RI­ETY WA has a new chief ex­ec­u­tive.

Tony Hume (49) has been given the task of steer­ing the Bur­swood-based char­ity’s phil­an­thropic ven­tures.

Mr Hume was pre­vi­ously chief ex­ec­u­tive of United Way and man­ag­ing di­rec­tor of Eclipse So­lu­tions.

He also worked at the Foun­da­tion for Aus­tralia’s Most En­dan­gered Species, was di­rec­tor of ad­vance­ment for health sciences at Curtin Univer­sity and is man­ag­ing di­rec­tor at Med­i­cal Cannabis Re­search Aus­tralia.

Mr Hume grad­u­ated from the Aus­tralian In­sti­tute of Com­pany Di­rec­tors and also has the global ac­cred­i­ta­tion of Cer­ti­fied Fundrais­ing Ex­ec­u­tive.

He said he chose to work in work­places where he could have the most com­mu­nity im­pact.
