The City of South Perth and Town of Victoria Park have adopted a joint bike path plan that will be implemented over the next five years.
A JOINT bike plan adopted by the City of South Perth and Town of Victoria Park is a WA first.
In line with the State Government’s Perth and Peel@3.5million, the plan will be implemented over the next five years, costing $7.3 million for South Perth and $7.65 million for Victoria Park.
South Perth Mayor Sue Doherty said the plan would provide positive impacts for the community in terms of health, social, economic and environmental benefits, with 13 infrastructure projects proposed.
Other recommendations include partnering with the RAC and Department of Transport on awareness campaigns and improving the collection of bicycle and pedestrian count data.
