A NEW partnership proposal with Fashion Council WA (FCWA) is scheduled to be considered by the Town of Victoria Park tonight. The new partnership is expected to bring $20,000 to $30,000 in benefits to the Town at zero cost.

The Town provided $57,000 to FCWA in 2017 as its Future Runway and International Runway events were being held at Crown.

But at their April meeting, councillors were concerned about the benefits from the sponsorship.

The council has been working with Fashion Council WA to ensure an acceptable outcome.

A Town report at the time said a dedicated marketing and communication strategy for Town events and a video featuring the council’s logo were not delivered, along with other agreed benefits.

The council will today consider an offer for this year’s sponsorship that includes access to royaltyfree content, a 10 per cent discount for tickets as an event partner and brand logo recognition on the PFF and FCWA website at no cost to the Town.

Town officers have recommended the council support the event.

Perth Fashion Festival creative director Mariella Harvey-Hanrahan said the Town of Victoria Park was an important stakeholder given most of the festival was held on the Burswood Peninsular. PFF 2018 runs from September 5 to 15.
