Highway crash charges
A MAN who allegedly crashed a stolen car into a business in South Perth on Thursday afternoon before fleeing on foot is facing numerous charges.
According to WA Police, the man was driving a Toyota Camry along Canning Highway when he collided with an Audi sedan at the intersection of Douglas Avenue.
The Camry remarkably came to rest on its side in the doorway of Success Tax Professional’s South Perth’s office.
The man escaped through the sunroof of the car and ran off before being cornered by police a short time later on the South Perth foreshore.
Both drivers received minor injuries and the cars and buildings were damaged extensively.
A 26-year-old man from Girrawheen made a brief court appearance on Friday to face charges of dangerous driving causing bodily harm in circumstances of aggression, stealing a motor vehicle and driving recklessly, and failing to stop causing property damage.
He was also charged with failing to stop and ensure assistance was received after a bodily harm incident, failure to report a bodily harm incident, obstructing police and failing to give police personal details.
