TOCUMWAL Lions Club’s 36th Annual Report by president Lidy Soule started on a sad note, with the passing of former President Tom Hart early in the year.

Tom, who joined the club in 2001, had been an enthusiastic worker at both the Railway Station and cemetery.

Five new members were welcomed into the club and they, along with the rest of the mem- bers, have had a very busy year working on town projects and fundraising.

The Lions donated to 29 causes ranging from the Australia Lions Drug Awareness campaign, Eye Health Program, Prostate Research, and to many local places, including Friends of the Library and local schools.

The club also looks after the cemetery, railway station and skate park, where they put railings on the skate ramp.

Highlight of the changeover dinner was the presentation of the prestigious James D Richardson Honour Award for Service to Lions to Arthur Dixon. Dr Balaji Rao and Len Soule, both Charter Members of Tocumwal Lions, received their 36th year pins.

President for 20011/12 is Lidy Soule, vice presidents are Arthur Dixon and Beryl McFarlane, and secretary is Sandi McDonald.
