JERILDERIE Public School recently welcomed university students Laura Anderson and Kristie Hudson (pictured above), who were keen to learn about teaching at a country school.

The student teachers came to the school through the Beyond the Line teacher recruitment program.

Ms Anderson and Ms Hudson, who are in their final year of study for their teaching degree at the University of New England, spent three days at Jerilderie PS to have a small taste of the benefits of teaching in a country school.

The Beyond the Line program was developed by the Department of Education several years ago to help attract beginning teachers to teach in country areas away from Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong.
