Come­back win for Saints

BER­RI­GAN’S re­serves had a 10-point win over Yar­roweyah in an­other come-from-be­hind win on Satur­day.

Fi­nal scores were Ber­ri­gan 7.5 (47) to Yar­roweyah 6.1 (37).

Yar­roweyah played the bet­ter foot­ball for the first three quar­ters but Ber­ri­gan dom­i­nated the last quar­ter to run over the top of the Hop­pers.

Noel Bax­ter was the only Ber­ri­gan player to play well all four quar­ters, while in the last quar­ter the likes of Aaron Pat­ter­son, Mark Head, Dan Pyle and Jar­rod Hud­son all played fan­tas­tic foot­ball.

Luke Robin­son and Mark Need­ham both kicked two goals for the Saints.

The thirds had a con­vinc­ing 138-point win over Yar­roweyah.

Har­ley Mid­dle­ton kicked 10 goals to take his tally to 66 for the year.

Jack Podesta was great in the mid­dle pick­ing up plenty of pos­ses­sions all over the ground.

Mark Thorn­ton, Jaime Walker and Joe Ed­nie all had good games while a few play­ers went and helped Yar­roweyah out with num­bers and played well.

The fourths had their best win of the year, beat­ing a team above them on the lad­der.

Yar­roweyah kicked away early to a two goal lead but the Saints were able to get back to level at three quar­ter time.

Then in the last quar­ter the Saints kicked three goals to one to win by 13 points.

Fi­nal score: Ber­ri­gan 6.6 (42) def. Yar­roweyah 4.5 (29).

Levi Mid­dle­ton and Kyle McQual­ter were bril­liant in the mid­dle while Con­nor Thorn­ton and Thomas Gor­don also played great games.

Jye Adam­son was great at cen­tre half for­ward and kicked two goals.

Zeke Carruthers and Brad Loats also played well in de­fence and stopped plenty of goals.

Levi Mid­dle­ton fin­ished with two goals while Bai­ley Holmes kicked one.
