Centre’s farm safety lesson
BERRIGAN Children’s Centre participated in various activities to celebrate and promote awareness of National Farm Safe Week last week.
The children were fortunate enough to have a visit from local farmer and parent Jeremy O’Dwyer, who discussed the various safety equipment used while farming.
The children were eager to try on the safety goggles, hats and vests, while learning about all the do’s and don’ts on a farm.
Another visit during this week was from local trainers, farmers and parents Emma and Simon Steel, who brought along a pony by the name of ‘Shorty’ for the children to have a pat and ride.
Emma discussed the safety precautions when near horses and displayed the safety equipment used while riding.
Simon was also eager to tell the children some farming stories of his own.
The Berrigan Children’s Centre would like to thank these people of our community for sharing and educating the children with their knowledge.
