New en­gi­neer at Ber­ri­gan Shire

LAST Wed­nes­day’s coun­cil meet­ing was the last for Ber­ri­gan Shire en­vi­ron­men­tal en­gi­neer Wayne Chisholm.

He has de­cided to re­lo­cate to Al­bury.

Ber­ri­gan Shire Mayor John Bruce of­fi­cially thanked Mr Chisholm who has worked with the shire for 27 years.

‘‘Wayne be­gan at the shire af­ter fin­ish­ing his ed­u­ca­tion, he has been a real as­set.

‘‘Our loss is cer­tainly an­other or­gan­i­sa­tion’s gain,’’ Cr Bruce said.

‘‘We thank you very much for your ef­forts and wish you all the best in the fu­ture.’’

Cr Bruce also took the op­por­tu­nity to for­mally wel­come re­cently ap­pointed op­er­a­tions of­fi­cer David Basil.

Mr Basil has had pre­vi­ous coun­cil ex­pe­ri­ence in Lake Mac­quarie, Bega and the Surf Coast.

He has moved to Fin­ley and is look­ing for­ward to be­ing in closer prox­im­ity to fam­ily and friends in Mel­bourne.
