No luck for Blighty

IT was an­other bad day on the net­ball courts for Blighty with seven straight losses to Deni Rovers on Satur­day.

A grade had the use of some young bloods who proved them­selves to be very handy un­der pres­sure.

In what was a strong, fast-paced game, Blighty went down 24-63.

Awards: Gemma Bray­bon, Carissa Thom­mers, Adri­anna Morris, Klara McCaw.

The B grade Redeyes were a much more set­tled side, con­test­ing the ball and good at­ti­tudes.

They lost 25-47. Awards: Kirsty Wil­lis, Amy Litch- field, Amy Dud­ley, Ni­cole Thorpe.

C grade was de­feated 13-40.

Awards: Emma Dav­i­son, Jackie Schramm, Erin Wil­lis, Ash Grib­ble.

C Re­serves grade saw some great pas­sages of play, but Rovers were just too strong, win­ning 34-10.

Awards: Anna Jowitt, Kaylene Loader, Kirby Wil­son.

Scores looked good at quar­ter time of the un­der­17s, but Rovers took con­trol and pow­ered home for an easy win. Blighty 23 to Rovers 54.

Awards: Klara McCaw, Adri­anna Morris, Abbey Breust, Ge­or­gia Dud­ley.

A tall Rovers U-15s side dom­i­nated the game from the first cen­tre pass. Blighty 13 Rovers 33.

Awards: Demi Blake, Gabby Ives, Meg Broad­head, Ge­or­gia Dud­ley.

The U-13s Redeyes put in a great team ef­fort against a strong op­po­si­tion, even­tu­ally go­ing down 16-26.

Awards: Grace Ingram, Ge­or­gia Brad­ford, Sarah Cochrane, So­phie Lostroh.

The Minis match was a very ex­cit­ing game to watch. Ev­ery­one play­ing their po­si­tions well.

Awards went to ev­ery­one.

Note: the club’s an­nual gen­eral meet­ing is be­ing held from 6.15pm on Thurs­day Au­gust 4 at the clu­b­rooms. All are en­cour­aged to at­tend and sup­port the club.
