Crazy char­ac­ters at Sa­cred Heart

IT was NSW Book Week at Sa­cred Heart Pri­mary School in Tocumwal re­cently.

And to cel­e­brate stu­dents came dressed as their favourite book char­ac­ters.

Sa­cred Heart prin­ci­pal Pat Boake said it was a ‘‘fan­tas­tic’’ event with plenty of imag­i­na­tion.

The theme for Book Week was ‘One World, Many Sto­ries’.

Each day a short­list book was read and art ac­tiv­i­ties fol­lowed.

My Un­cle’s Don­key was read on the first day, fol­lowed by Two Peas in a Pod, Maudie and Bear and The Wonky Don­key.

On the fi­nal day of Book Week, Sa­cred Heart stu­dent Daniel McIn­tosh read a book of his choice over the PA sys­tem to the school.

Win­ners of the Book Week Colour­ing Com­pe­ti­tion were An­nie McLeod and Shadan Alsabti (Pre School­ers); Caitlin Har­risStevens and Daniel McIn­tosh (Se­nior); and Liam Craig and Tayah Hol­lis­ter (Ju­nior).

Win­ners of the Book Char­ac­ter Pa­rade were Madi­son Wooden and Caro­line Rut­ledge (Se­nior), Ri­ley Bourne and Skyla Grif­fen (Ju­nior).
