Tocumwal A large field of lady golfers took part in the 27 hole foursomes championship last week at Tocumwal Golf Club.
The 2011 championship was played on a composite course using both captains and presidents first nine holes.
Lynne Parry and Nola Dalton succeeded in taking out the championship with a 27 hole gross score of 130.
Runners-up were Petra Wilmot and Tracey Clouston with a score of 135.
Nett winners were Chris Wilson and Marlene Bailey with 1013⁄ from the runnersup Marg Anderson and Julie O’Brien with 1041⁄
The perpetual trophy was donated in 1995 by Beryl and the late George Lewis.
Beryl was on hand to make the presentation to the winners.
On Tuesday, 72 ladies played ‘ Drop Out Ambrose’ on the Captains course.
The winning team consisted of Anne Beveridge, Jill Collins, Kerry Conrad and Jan Campbell with the score of 631⁄
Balls went to 653⁄ Nearest the pins: Therese Wren 2nd, Sheila Walsh 8th, Maree Doyle 14th and Betty Burwood on the 17th hole.
Wednesday was Legacy Charity Day with 108 men and six ladies who played stableford on the Captains course.
Winners were men A grade on his birthday Jeff Harris 40 points.
B grade Barry Hunter 37 points, C Grade Terry McMahon 41 points and D grade Gary Grayson 39 points.
Nearest the pins Graeme Brierley and Hugo Jankov.
Balls went to 35 points on a count-back.
The ladies winner was Sandra Tabe from Box Hill with 43 points.
Saturday’s medley was an ‘Iris teams’ stableford and the winning team was Sam Condy, Veronica Condy, David Parry and Elsie Sparrowhawk with 133 points.
Runners-up John Washbrook Marie McLennan Doug Perrett and Pauline Wilson with 131 points.
On Sunday, Fathers Day we had 56 men and 11 ladies who played stableford on the Captains course for some excellent scores.
Winners men A grade Nathan Matthews 40 points, B grade Kevin Morey 39 points, C grade with the great score of 45 points Geoffrey Jones.
