Nationals fund station upgrade
THE Jerilderie Fire Station will receive a significant financial boost as part of the NSW Coalition budget.
Member for MurrayDarling John Williams said The Liberals and Nationals’ budget is about rebuilding New South Wales, including improved roads and infrastructure for the people.
In the budget, which is the first for the new Liberal and National government, $788,000 is allocated for an upgrade at the Jerilderie Fire Station upgrade.
Mr Williams said the budget also included a five-year $2 billion program for disability ser- vices, the largest funding commitment to disability services made in the nation’s history.
‘‘Community infrastructure will also be boosted overall with an additional $35 million allocated over two years through an extension of the Community Building Partnership program.
‘‘We are investing an additional $200 million to tackle black spots and reduce road congestion across the State including improvements to the Barrier Hwy, Silver City Hwy, Sturt Hwy, Cobb Hwy, Mid-Western Hwy and Riverina Hwy,’’ Mr Williams said.
