Phone bust leads to drug arrest
A 38 year-old truck driver from Tumbarumba will appear in Finley Court on October 27 after being charged with talking on his mobile phone while driving, and drug related offences.
Police said they spotted the driver at 4.10pm on Wednesday in Murray St, Finley.
Police then searched the cabin and allegedly found a glass smoking pipe, a ‘bong’, a brass cone and resealable bag containing what is believed to be amphetamine.
●●● A 39 year-old South Australian was given a cannabis caution by police on Saturday after being stopped in Jerilderie St, Jerilderie.
Police stopped the driver at 1.30pm for a random breath test (RBT), and alleged to have smelled cannabis in the car.
In a subsequent search, police allegedly
uncovered a small amount of cannabis and a pipe.
●●● Between 3pm and 11pm on Sunday a car parked on the Newell Highway near Wells St, Finley had its tires deflated. Anyone with information should contact police.
