Shock fall for Vic­to­rian man

A 56 year-old Vic­to­rian man es­caped in­jury af­ter re­port­edly fall­ing into a hole at a li­censed premises in Ba­rooga on Satur­day night.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice, the man was walk­ing across a grassed area at the front of the premises at 7.30pm when the ground he was on gave way cre­at­ing a hole ap­prox­i­mately one me­tre wide.

The man re­port­edly fell into the hole, which con­tained water, but was able to grab hold of an un­der­ground pipe.

Po­lice said the man called for help and was pulled out of the hole by passers-by.

He was taken in an am­bu­lance to the Co­bram Hos­pi­tal but was re­ported not to be se­ri­ously in­jured.

He was treated for shock.
