Shock fall for Victorian man
A 56 year-old Victorian man escaped injury after reportedly falling into a hole at a licensed premises in Barooga on Saturday night.
According to police, the man was walking across a grassed area at the front of the premises at 7.30pm when the ground he was on gave way creating a hole approximately one metre wide.
The man reportedly fell into the hole, which contained water, but was able to grab hold of an underground pipe.
Police said the man called for help and was pulled out of the hole by passers-by.
He was taken in an ambulance to the Cobram Hospital but was reported not to be seriously injured.
He was treated for shock.
