THE South West An­glers As­so­ci­a­tion fish­ing com­pe­ti­tion was held at Lake Mul­wala re­cently.

Fish­ing clubs from Corowa, Gan­main, Wal­bun­drie, Ber­ri­gan, Wagga Comm, SRHC, Lav­ing­ton, Jin­dera, Bur­rum­but­tock, Tocumwal and Lee­ton at­tended of which there were 81 men, 21 ladies and 19 ju­niors.

About 30 fish were recorded - 23 Murray cod and six carp.

Best fish was caught by Steven Mal­colm from Ber­ri­gan who reeled in a 730mm cod.

Run­ners-up was a tie be­tween He­len Pyle and Ken Sut­ton with a 630mm Murray cod.

Win­ning club Ber­ri­gan on 9060mm in to­tal.

Run­ner-up Wal­bun­drie 5355mm in to­tal, Gan­main 1030mm

Corowa and 510mm.

The com­pe­ti­tion was held on the last week­end of cod sea­son which is closed un­til De­cem­ber 15.

A re­minder there is no fish­ing per­mit­ted be­tween Lake Mul­wala and the Tocumwal Bridge.
