Be en­ter­tained at Ber­ri­gan Show

ROLL up, roll up to the 113th an­nual Ber­ri­gan Show this Sun­day.

The Ber­ri­gan Show for 2011 will fea­ture horse events, live­stock dis­plays and yard dog cham­pi­onships.

De­light in the tal­ents of our com­mu­nity show­cased in the pav­il­ion.

Ex­hibits range from cook­ery to art­work, needle­work to photography.

There is a cat­e­gory for ev­ery­one to en­ter young or not so young, and some­thing for us all to en­joy.

Meet the fu­ture lead­ers of our district in the 2011 Ber­ri­gan Show­girl, Ru­ral Am­bas­sador and Young Am­bas­sador events.

Per­haps younger fam­ily mem­bers have what it takes to be Mas­ter Tot, Miss Tiny Tot, Miss Teenager, Mas­ter Stock­man, Miss Spring or Ju­nior Show­girl.

To en­ter, reg­is­ter at the sec­re­tary’s of­fice at 11.30pm.

The Chil­dren’s Pet Pa­rade is al­ways a great event with tro­phies go- ing to best dressed and friendli­est pet and most obe­di­ent dog.

Other sec­tions in­clude best puppy, best farm pet, most un­usual, best groomed and many more.

Ev­ery en­trant gets a rib­bon and the event starts at 11am.

The show com­mit­tee is very ex­cited about the spe­cial fea­ture this year, the Bul­lock Team - all the way from the NSW south coast.

Also cer­tain to en­ter­tain is ‘Char­lie’ the Brah­man Steer.

This gen­tle gi­ant will wan­der the show meet­ing and greet­ing show­go­ers with his han­dler.

En­ter­tain­ment is the name of the game this year with Pro­fes­sor Wal­lace’s pup­pet the­atre, the an­i­mal nurs­ery, the ‘Tea and ‘Fun­house’ rides, dodgem cars, the Cha Cha, jump­ing cas­tle, show­bags, sideshow al­ley and more.

Ap­pear­ing for the first time at the Ber­ri­gan Show, grab the mal­let and see if you have what it takes to sound the bell on the ‘Test Your Strength' ma­chine!


For browsers don't for­get the spring mar­ket of­fer­ing a lit­tle bit of every­thing, as well as the Aus­tralian War Me­mo­rial pro­mo­tional dis­play and chain­saw sculp­ture dis­play and sales.

Lunch, snacks and treats are taken care of with a va­ri­ety of food vans and cater­ing ser­vices avail­able and par­ents can re­lax by the bar with a cold drink, or two.

En­tries for pav­il­ion ex­hibits close 5.30pm on Fri­day.

The sec­re­tary’s of­fice is open Wed­nes­day to Fri­day 12pm to 5.30pm, and ex­hibits must be at the show­grounds by 12pm on Satur­day.

Char­lie the Brah­man Steer will be on hand to meet and greet at this year’s Ber­ri­gan Show.
