Be entertained at Berrigan Show
ROLL up, roll up to the 113th annual Berrigan Show this Sunday.
The Berrigan Show for 2011 will feature horse events, livestock displays and yard dog championships.
Delight in the talents of our community showcased in the pavilion.
Exhibits range from cookery to artwork, needlework to photography.
There is a category for everyone to enter young or not so young, and something for us all to enjoy.
Meet the future leaders of our district in the 2011 Berrigan Showgirl, Rural Ambassador and Young Ambassador events.
Perhaps younger family members have what it takes to be Master Tot, Miss Tiny Tot, Miss Teenager, Master Stockman, Miss Spring or Junior Showgirl.
To enter, register at the secretary’s office at 11.30pm.
The Children’s Pet Parade is always a great event with trophies go- ing to best dressed and friendliest pet and most obedient dog.
Other sections include best puppy, best farm pet, most unusual, best groomed and many more.
Every entrant gets a ribbon and the event starts at 11am.
The show committee is very excited about the special feature this year, the Bullock Team - all the way from the NSW south coast.
Also certain to entertain is ‘Charlie’ the Brahman Steer.
This gentle giant will wander the show meeting and greeting showgoers with his handler.
Entertainment is the name of the game this year with Professor Wallace’s puppet theatre, the animal nursery, the ‘Tea and ‘Funhouse’ rides, dodgem cars, the Cha Cha, jumping castle, showbags, sideshow alley and more.
Do you have the muscles to pass the ‘Test Your Strength Test’?
Appearing for the first time at the Berrigan Show, grab the mallet and see if you have what it takes to sound the bell on the ‘Test Your Strength' machine!
For browsers don't forget the spring market offering a little bit of everything, as well as the Australian War Memorial promotional display and chainsaw sculpture display and sales.
Lunch, snacks and treats are taken care of with a variety of food vans and catering services available and parents can relax by the bar with a cold drink, or two.
