Keeping kids safe
Finley Public School will receive a welcome boost to fund two youth safety initiatives, thanks to the annual NRMA Safer Driving School Road Safety Grant program.
NRMA Director Graham Blight said Finley Public School would receive a $1,000 grant for their Safety for Young Pedestrians program.
“Students from Finley Public School will walk around their local community, identify road safety features and create a song from their experience to perform for the school assembly,” Mr Blight said.
“Road safety booklets and show bags will also be produced and pre- sented to kindergarten students in one-on-one peer support lessons.”
Mr Blight added they will also receive a second $1,000 grant for their interactive whiteboard Pedestrian Safety presentation which will focus on safe behaviours around roads plus pedestrian and bike safety.
“Initiatives such as this one enhance the safety, confidence and independence of people in the local community and the NRMA is proud to be able to help in a positive and meaningful way.
The NRMA Safer Driving School Road Safety Grant program is in its 10th year.
