Jane to take on division finals
Jane Ritchie won the Finley RSC Ladies’ A Grade Championship from Joyce Thomas last Wednesday morning.
Some excellent bowls was witnessed by the spectators, as for most of the early game it was neck and neck.
After 29 ends, Jane came out the winner with a score of 25 to 16.
A hearty congratulations to Jane as it was the first time she had been able to participate in this event.
She will now represent our club in the division finals in Cobram on January 11.
President Warren was there to congratulate both ladies.
The ladies then sat down to a delicious Christmas luncheon in the club, where Vice President Therese presented the Club Championship badge to Jane and wished everyone a happy and safe Christmas.
At 4pm spectators were treated to another great game between Warren Blanch and Russell Sullivan in the Mens Championship final.
This game was neck and neck and both men were on 21 all after 26 ends.
Then Russell scored a three then a one to take the game, excellent bowling by you both and congratulations Russell.
At the same time Manfred Krug and Jeff Peacock defeated Ron Ameer and Keith Johnson in a round of the pairs championship, Manfred and Jeff will now play Archie West and David Polkinghorne in the final on December 31.
