Jane to take on divi­sion fi­nals

Jane Ritchie won the Fin­ley RSC Ladies’ A Grade Cham­pi­onship from Joyce Thomas last Wed­nes­day morn­ing.

Some ex­cel­lent bowls was wit­nessed by the spec­ta­tors, as for most of the early game it was neck and neck.

Af­ter 29 ends, Jane came out the win­ner with a score of 25 to 16.

A hearty congratulations to Jane as it was the first time she had been able to par­tic­i­pate in this event.

She will now rep­re­sent our club in the divi­sion fi­nals in Co­bram on Jan­uary 11.

Pres­i­dent War­ren was there to con­grat­u­late both ladies.

The ladies then sat down to a de­li­cious Christ­mas lun­cheon in the club, where Vice Pres­i­dent Therese pre­sented the Club Cham­pi­onship badge to Jane and wished ev­ery­one a happy and safe Christ­mas.

At 4pm spec­ta­tors were treated to an­other great game be­tween War­ren Blanch and Rus­sell Sul­li­van in the Mens Cham­pi­onship fi­nal.

This game was neck and neck and both men were on 21 all af­ter 26 ends.

Then Rus­sell scored a three then a one to take the game, ex­cel­lent bowl­ing by you both and congratulations Rus­sell.

At the same time Man­fred Krug and Jeff Pea­cock de­feated Ron Ameer and Keith John­son in a round of the pairs cham­pi­onship, Man­fred and Jeff will now play Archie West and David Polk­inghorne in the fi­nal on De­cem­ber 31.

Also, bowlers are en­cour­aged to get their names in for the Aus­tralia Day mixed pairs on the sheet.
