Horse­man wows Haino Park crowd

Amer­i­can horse whis­perer Dr Lew Ster­rett at­tracted more than 120 peo­ple to lo­cal prop­erty ‘Haino Park’, near Fin­ley, on Fri­day.

The ac­claimed horse­man wowed the crowd with an­other in­spir­ing demon­stra­tion.

Dr Ster­rett re­turned by pop­u­lar de­mand af­ter his first visit to Fin­ley in June 2011.

His amaz­ing abil­ity with horses was once again on show as he tied his an­i­mal train­ing prin­ci­ples back to ev­ery­day liv­ing prin­ci­ples.

The event was co­or­di­nated by Fin­ley Re­gional Chris­tian Men’s Fel­low­ship, and or­gan­iser John Ever­ing­ham said the crowd ex­ceeded ex­pec­ta­tions.

‘‘I was ex­pect­ing 80 to 100 said. ‘‘We had about 120. ‘‘There was a lot of peo­ple who hadn’t been to the for­mer one.

‘‘The day was mild and it was won­der­ful.’’

The crowd also re­port­edly in­cluded a for­mer Vic­to­rian sad­dle bronc cham­pion, he said.

Mr Ever­ing­ham said while Dr Ster­rett’s lat­est per­for­mance was not recorded, DVDS of his June demon­stra­tion are still avail­able.

The event also helped raise money for the Fin­ley Pres­by­te­rian CRASH youth group, which sold drinks at the event. For de­tails call Mr Ever­ing­ham on 5883 0239.
