Supplementary water access cut
Acting NSW Water Commissioner Colin Mclean last week announced the end of supplementary water access in the Murray Valley.
Mr Mclean said as the conditions have begun to turn dry and irrigation demand has increased, supplementary access has to come to an end.
‘‘The current conditions also mean that the flood pre-releases from the Menindee Lakes system are to be reduced and will return the Lower Darling River to a regulated flow from late January.
‘‘The NSW Office of Water will continue to closely monitor the situation and will provide further advice if conditions change.’’
