Swim stu­dents en­joy evening car­ni­val

Last Wed­nes­day evening St Columba’s held its swim­ming car­ni­val.

A great night was held by all with Gur­rum Na­gle just beat­ing Or Iona for the cham­pion house hon­ours.

The win­ners of the night were as fol­lows:

Cham­pion Male Swim­mer – Thomas Whe­lan, Cham­pion Fe­male Swim­mer – Brooke Hooper, Se­nior Boys Cham­pion – Thomas Whe­lan, Run­ner-up – Fraser Haintz, Se­nior Girl Cham­pion – Kait­lynn Jones, Run­nerup - An­nie Cameron, 11 year-old Cham­pion - Brooke Hooper, 12 yearold Cham­pion – Ja­cob Glanvill, Ju­nior Boy Cham­pion was a three­way draw – Miles Curtin, Michael Cal­lum and John O’neill, Ju­nior Girl Cham­pion – Olivia O’neill and Run­ner-up - Natasha Jones.

Con­grat­u­la­tions to all who par­tic­i­pated. Stu­dents swam at Fin­ley yes­ter­day at the SW Dean­ery Car­ni­val.


The com­mu­nity are in­vited to the Bai­ley fam­ily send-off for Ank, Ka­t­rina, Kate and John on Satur­day, March 3 at the Ber­ri­gan Sports Ground Func­tion Room.

●●● The Clas­sic Car Club For­ma­tion is look­ing for mem­bers in­ter­ested in form­ing a vin­tage and clas­sic car club within the Ber­ri­gan Shire.

A meet­ing will be held for all in­ter­ested peo­ple to ex­plain the aims and set an agenda for the for­ma­tion of a club if there is enough in­ter­est.

The meet­ing is on Wed­nes­day, Fe­bru­ary 22 at the Tup­pal Ho­tel at 6.30pm. If you would like more in­for­ma­tion please con­tact Rob Gille­spie on 5885 2515.

Pan­cakes will be cooked and tossed again in the Unit­ing Church Cox hall this Sun­day, Fe­bru­ary 19 at 11am.

A freshly cooked hot pan­cake with ice cream and maple syrup or lemon will cost $5 with free tea or cof­fee.

The pan­cakes are de­li­cious so don’t miss out. All wel­come.

●●● Ama­roo Ladies Aux­il­iary is hold­ing its An­nual Fete on March 24. There will be var­i­ous stalls, Devon­shire tea and BBQ. More in­for­ma­tion next week.

●●● Next Tues­day night, Fe­bru­ary 21 is St Ai­dan’s Pan­cake Night start­ing at 6.30pm. All wel­come.

●●● Sym­pa­thy is ex­tended to Rowan and An­drea O’neill and the ex­tended O’neill fam­ily on the pass­ing of Rowan’s mother Shirley last Mon­day.

●●● Ber­ri­gan CWA Fe­bru­ary meet­ing will be held next Mon­day at 2pm in the CWA Rooms. If you would like to join CWA, con­tact any CWA mem­ber or come along to the monthly meet­ings held on the third Mon­day of ev­ery month.

Meet­ings are also held on the sec­ond Mon­day of the month which takes the for­mat of learn­ing new crafts and dis­cus­sions about up­com­ing ac­tiv­i­ties of the CWA.
