Fitzroy wedding for John, Gill
John Butcher and Gill Fogarty celebrated their marriage on January 14 at St Brigid’s Church in North Fitzroy.
Gill was attended by her friend Kate Trotter and sisters, Bernadette Sharp and Colleen Nolan, while John’s groomsmen were Jason Brooks, Brad Sneddon and Andrew Henderson.
After the ceremony they invited their family and friends to join them for refreshments in the nearby Edinburgh gardens, before the guests, led by Master of Ceremonies, Marty Robinson, boarded a tram bound for the reception at Eat-drink-manWoman, on Brunswick St, Fitzroy.
Guests shared platters of gourmet food and there were a number of heartfelt speeches, before they danced into the night.
A highlight of the evening was the photo booth, hand built by John, which captured plenty of memorable shots.
Gill’s dress was lovingly created by her aunt, Margaret Mueller, featuring lace which had belonged to Gill’s great grandmother.
Margaret also made bridesmaids’ dresses.
A beautiful theme was created along with the elegantly decorated wedding cake by Gill.
John and Gill are heading off on their honeymoon to Cambodia shortly.
John is the son of Carmel and Robert Butcher of Jerilderie and Gill is the daughter of Des and Helen Fogarty of Wangaratta.
