Chooks killed

Po­lice were ap­palled last Wed­nes­day when they dis­cov­ered mu­ti­lated chick­ens in a Ber­ri­gan res­i­den­tial area.

Six chick­ens were found with their heads cut off, and an­other was found with a bro­ken neck.

They were found in Hayes St about 8.30am.

Any­one with in­for­ma­tion is asked to con­tact po­lice.

●●● A cannabis, a ‘ bong’ and a bowl were seized from a Tocumwal home last Tues­day morn­ing af­ter po­lice re­ceived drugs in­for­ma­tion.

They went to a Deni­son St home about 11.10am on May 1, where an 18 year-old Tocumwal man was is­sued a cannabis cau­tion.

●●● A 25 year-old Blighty man has been charged with drink driv­ing af­ter be­ing stopped for a ran­dom breath test on Satur­day.

Po­lice stopped a man driv­ing on Lak­ers Rd at Blighty about 10.25pm.

Af­ter al­legedly re­turn­ing a pos­i­tive read­ing he was taken to De­niliquin Po­lice Sta­tion where a blood al­co­hol read­ing of 0.112 was recorded.

He was charged with mid range pre­scribed con­tent of al­co­hol, to ap­pear in De­niliquin Court on June 19.
