Amaroo Hostel, this year’s Berrigan Shire Business of the Year, has recently undergone its three year accreditation and ‘‘passed with flying colours’’.

Every three years all aged care providers go through accreditation to make sure all standards are being meet and if there is room for improvement that it is pointed out and addressed.

Hostel manager Kathy Bush said Amaroo meet all 44 outcomes in the four standards, and the accreditors commented on the outstanding overall ‘‘resident focus’’ care given at Amaroo.

Ms Bush said she was ‘‘very happy’’ with the results and was most surprised that there were no additional comments given.

‘‘Usually, accreditors recommend best practice in some areas but this time they had nothing to add,’’ she said.

‘‘It is very reassuring to know that we are doing a great job.’’
