Tidy Towns street stall
This Friday the Jerilderie Tidy Towns is holding its second street stall to help raise money for the accommodation centre in Albury.
A raffle of a hamper will be drawn on the day. All donations and support will be gratefully received.
●●● The closing date for entries to Jerilderie’s Got Talent is June 1. Names to the Public School.
●●● The Biggest Morning/ Afternoon tea will be hosted at the Jerilderie Library on Friday, June 8. Business orders will be delivered in the morning, and the afternoon tea will be from 2pm to 4pm at the Monash room, entry via the Library. Mark your calendars.
●●● Winners of the raffle on the Catholic Womens League street stall last Friday were:
Betty Sweeney, fruit and veg; and Ollie Pitt, Pharmacy voucher. Thanks to everyone who supported this very successful stall, which raised $557.
●●● The Hospital Auxilia- ry May meeting will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2pm at the Community Centre meeting room. New members are always welcome.
●●● Euan John Anthony Sidgwick, third son of Bronwyn and John, and newest grandson for Brian and Jenny Moloney, was baptised in Yarrawonga on Sunday morning. Godparents are Helene and Justin Mortlock.
●●● Belated happy birthday to Ann Hardie who celebrated her 70th recently. Ann and Bruce have been in Adelaide visiting their youngest daughter Bronwyn and her family.
●●● One reason the news is lacking in content this week, is that your correspondent and husband have been in Canberra for four days, during which time they attended the 70th birthday celebrations of Paul’s brother Martin Ryan, at the Royal Canberra Golf Club on Saturday night.
●●● Southern Riverina Toastmasters Club has just held its annual elections.
Jim Muirhead from Finley is the new president, Ray Bright from Jerilderie vice president and Joanne WilsonRidley the new treasurer.
The Toastmasters Club meets twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays at the Royal Mail Hotel in Jerilderie with members from Tocumwal, Finley, Berrigan, Jerilderie, Deniliquin and Coleambally.
New members always welcome.
This Thursday Toastmasters is holding a dinner meeting. Members are asked to bring a friend.
If anyone is interested in polishing up on public speaking skills come to Jerilderie’s Royal Mail Hotel tomorrow 7pm for 7.30pm start.
