The Norm Dyer Award of Excellence has found itself a new home right here in Finley, all thanks to Ruralco employee Sharni Hood.

Sharni has been a member of the Ruralco Finley team, a parent company of Rodwells, since March 2011 taking on the role of insurance sales representative.

Her colleague, Lee Mclennan, said in just over 12 months with the company, Sharni has proven to have an important role within the business.

‘‘Sharni has shown great drive, passion and genuinely wants to help people,’’ she said.

‘‘Her PR skills are fabulous. She articulates well free of jargon.

Sharni only completed her brokerage training in September and said winning the award was ‘‘a real achievement’’.

She said she has been able to grow quickly in her role because of the great support from her business colleagues and a great working environment.

‘‘Thanks to the Finley branch for their support and encouragement,’’ she said.

‘‘We have more options and avenues of different insurance to meet clients’ needs.’’

Sharni was awarded the Norm Dyer Award of Excellence accolade through the Insight Insurance Brokers Association.

The award is for employees who have been broking for less than three years.

Sharni was nominated through Allianz and was selected as one of two finalists vying for the title.

As a part of the selection process Sharni went to Melbourne in April and then to Glenelg in South Australia for four days for the annual Insight conference.

Anyone with any insurance needs should contact Sharni Hood at the Ruralco office on 5883 1777.
