In-form Jerilderie side deals a blow to league ladder leaders
Playing against Picola NorthWest division fixture’s top side on Saturday, the Jerilderie Football Club seniors knew they had to come out hard.
The Dees took on Blighty at their home ground.
The boys started very well, attacking and pressuring Blighty creating some turnovers which resulted in several goals, and were ahead on the scoreboard at half time nine goals to seven goals.
After the break both sides kept up the pressure, with Blighty’s talls, they started to get back at the Dees winning first use out of the middle.
To Jerilderie’s credit, when Blighty got within a goal or two the boys would hit back with goals themselves.
With 16pts and not much time left Blighty got two quick goals and were in attack when the siren sounded game.
A great team effort with no passengers. This week we welcome Mathoura and good luck to all teams.

In the reserves, the Demons again gave away a start after the first quarter the boys were able to match it with Blighty in windy conditions, goal kicking was hard work.
Ben Nash and Tom Bryce tried hard in the back line with Ian Taylor and Scott McGillavary got on top after quarter time.
Lachie Watson, Lachie Portbury and Kip Barlow tried hard.

The thirds started slowly but eventually got going to record a good win against Blighty in very cold conditions.
Blair played a great game on the ball and Westy was strong across half back.
James Browning was great up forward. Joe Barlow playing well before leaving the ground at half time to play his first seniors game.
With a break this week, the team hopes to build some momentum into the finals.

In the fourths, the young Dees come out on fire from the bounce with great movement off the ball through Caleb Catena, Tom Sleigh, Nick Parker and Kobi Howes to Jacob Read.
The Dees managed eight goals to two in the first. The second quarter was a bit scrappy with the Dees only managing three majors.
After half time they regrouped and through great play from Harry Leeds, Caleb Catena, Nick Baldwin and Fraiser Pinnuick turn the score around with another nine goals.
In the final quarter the young Dees prove they can finish well with a good win.
