Quintet visiting Deni
The local community will have the amazing opportunity to listen to
performed by the Albury String Quintet at the Uniting Church in Deniliquin on July 29.
Song of the Forest brings together musicians from Albury and Wagga Wagga for a performance of an original Australian ‘‘multimovement composition’’.
Each movement will be an exploration of the thoughts, concepts and images from a series of poems written by Bohdan Krowicky.
The poems examine the nature of music, the way it has changed through time, its connection to life and the wellbeing of all creatures.
South West Arts regional arts development officer Alyce Fisher said the performers are sure to please people of all ages.
‘‘The quintet will enchant the young and the old; they will also be performing Schubert’s Quintet in C Major, which I’m sure will be enjoyed by all.’’
The concert is being coordinated by South West Music, in partnership with South West Arts, who received Arts NSW funding through the Regional Conservatorium Association to hold a series of concerts in Deniliquin this year.
Albury String Quintet will be the first group to tour Deniliquin.
Tickets can be purchased from South West Music, and are $30 each pre-paid or $35 at the door.
School-aged children only need to pay a gold coin donation.
The concert will begin from 1pm on Sunday, July 29.
