Quintet vis­it­ing Deni

The lo­cal community will have the amaz­ing op­por­tu­nity to lis­ten to

per­formed by the Al­bury String Quintet at the Unit­ing Church in De­niliquin on July 29.

Song of the For­est brings to­gether mu­si­cians from Al­bury and Wagga Wagga for a per­for­mance of an orig­i­nal Aus­tralian ‘‘mul­ti­move­ment com­po­si­tion’’.

Each move­ment will be an ex­plo­ration of the thoughts, con­cepts and im­ages from a se­ries of po­ems writ­ten by Bo­hdan Krow­icky.

The po­ems ex­am­ine the na­ture of mu­sic, the way it has changed through time, its con­nec­tion to life and the well­be­ing of all crea­tures.

South West Arts re­gional arts de­vel­op­ment of­fi­cer Alyce Fisher said the per­form­ers are sure to please peo­ple of all ages.

‘‘The quintet will en­chant the young and the old; they will also be per­form­ing Schu­bert’s Quintet in C Ma­jor, which I’m sure will be en­joyed by all.’’

The concert is be­ing co­or­di­nated by South West Mu­sic, in part­ner­ship with South West Arts, who re­ceived Arts NSW fund­ing through the Re­gional Con­ser­va­to­rium As­so­ci­a­tion to hold a se­ries of con­certs in De­niliquin this year.

Al­bury String Quintet will be the first group to tour De­niliquin.

Tick­ets can be pur­chased from South West Mu­sic, and are $30 each pre-paid or $35 at the door.

School-aged chil­dren only need to pay a gold coin do­na­tion.

The concert will be­gin from 1pm on Sun­day, July 29.
