A top night for Berrigan
For James Ware and Stu Pyle (pictured), Top Gun is the epitome of the 1980s.
The pair dressed as the charismatic characters - Maverick and Goose - from the popular 80s movie for the Berrigan Football Netball Club social night on Saturday.
True to the parts, the boys thought they had the best dressed award for the 80s night in the bag.
But they were pipped by a pair of blue faced locals dressed as smurfs.
While movie and television characters were popular amongst guests on the night, the costumes the 80s are known for also made a bit of a comeback.
Fluorescent colours, leg warmers and crimped hair were all favourites of the era.
On Sunday, July 29, National Tree Planting Day will take place at Amaroo.
The trees will compliment the new walking track around the dam.
Anyone able to help is asked to be at Amaroo for a 9.30am start. The meeting point will be at the front of Amaroo, Davis St.
