There was not a full con­tin­gent of ex­port buy­ers at the Fin­ley sa­le­yards on Fri­day.

How­ever, prices for the heavy steers and cows still lifted by 6c to 12c/kg.

The qual­ity of the young stock was mixed with sev­eral store lines of­fered. The year­ling steers were 6c to 8c/kg dearer.

The veal­ers made from 183c to 232c/kg. The year­ling steers B and C mus­cle made from 190c to 216c to av­er­age 202c/kg.

The year­ling heifer por­tion made from 176c to 212c/kg.

There were sev­eral pens of well fin­ished grown steers of­fered. The medium C3 and C4 steers were 172c to 208c to av­er­age 202c/kg.

The heavy steers made from 192c to 196c to av­er­age 193c, while the bul­locks reached 192c/kg. The beef cows lifted by 10c and made from 135c to 156c/kg. The best of the bulls topped at 184c/kg.
